CPE Bach: Clavier-Fantasie mit Begleitung einer Violine H536, RG123

Written during the last year of his life in 1787, this is an extraordinary piece. Described by the composer himself as "CPE Bach's Empfindungen" [CPE Bach's sentiments], it is a powerfully expressive piece, full of dramatic dynamic contrasts (almost certainly requiring a piano for performance) and passionate harmony. Even the tempo marking is highly personal - sehr traurig und ganz langsam [very sad and extremely slow]
