Written during the last year of his life, C.P.E. Bach's "Keyboard Fantasy with the accompaniment of a violin" has to rate as one of his most personal and expressive works. I find the shaky slurs particularly moving -- one really has the feeling of someone desperate to get these last thoughts down on paper.
